In 1970, this firm started in Washington, D.C. with a liaison office in Tokyo, Japan. 1970 also saw the first of many trainees from Japan come to our office to study U.S. patent law. Since the firm's opening, we have had many opportunities to provide training on U.S. patent law and practice within our facilities to patent attorneys from Asia and Europe. In 1990, we acquired a small Intellectual Property firm in Pittsburgh, PA., giving the firm a presence in the Pittsburgh area.
